Studies

I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, where I achieved a first-class Honours degree in Spanish. I continued to postgraduate level at the same university, earning an MSc in Translation Studies with Distinction in both the Master’s and my Extended Translation Project on Medical Translation for Expert vs. Lay Audiences.

Before studying languages and translation, I worked and studied in various fields: I worked in a pharmacy, where I learned about medicines and pharmaceuticals; I worked as a freelance Hair Stylist throughout my studies, and I also completed a course in Social Sciences.

My previous experience makes me a highly flexible, well-rounded translator. Having this broad knowledge of several fields increases my adaptability and prepares me to tackle various jobs and assignments.

Work

Outside of academia, I am also a Member (MA MCIL ACIL) of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, a professional body dedicated to supporting language service providers and upholding professional values. I am also a full member of both Tremédica and Asetrad. You can find links to my page with each association in the footer section.

I officially started RSATranslation in May 2021, but I have been translating since June 2020 in both voluntary and paid projects. In this time, I have worked for clients in Scotland, Italy, Spain, the United States and China. Plus, I have worked on multiple projects, such as transcribing and translating the work of Latin American and Scottish artists, post-editing of machine-translated web content, and subtitling Spanish and Catalan films and TV.
